My fab-tastic new Ipod Shuffle playlist

For the longest time I have been running with one of the old 8GB humongous video ipods with an arm strap. It is ridiculously large and chafes my arm every time I run. Big Monkey says I look like those guys from the 1980's who carried the boombox on their shoulder.

Last week, I saw that Apple Store was having a special sale on their refurbished Ipod shuffles for $29 so I jumped on it and was soon delivered the little green beauty you see above.

I wanted to make my new shuffle only for running so I chose very carefully out of my library to make sure every song put on it is upbeat and sure to motivate me. I thought you might like to see my new playlist. Now, keep in mind, I know it is a bit pop-heavy but you do have to remember the purpose is to workout... no depressing, mellow music for this mix.

Hey Sara,

I think you should add, "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas...very upbeat, if I do ever work out, that is like the one song I listen to...on repeat.

Thanks for sharing your playlist. I find that the right music really helps.

A bit pop heavy? It'll keep you running. And vomiting. :)

I bought a shuffle for running, too. I put New Orleans funk music on it because that makes me happy. I actually think I hurt my knee when I was dancing during my half marathon. I am stupid.

Anyway, run while you can! You need more songs, though. Lots more songs.

Looks like a great list. Some tunes just make you want to get up and move!

A great one to add would be 'Life is a Highway' either the first by Tom Cochran or then Rascal Flatts did it later. I prefer the RF version. :)

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! I love your play list and there are many many songs that I haven't thought of for my running. I am very particular about my running mix. I really like to hear a beat in the background, does that make sense? Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

YOU ARE THE BEST! I love love love your playlist. I am totally pop because I need that kind of beat to run. Although, my hands down favorite is Chicken Fried which is country-I have it twice on my running mix and even play it several times more towards the end. So I have downloaded many of your selections and I am super pumped for my run this afternoon. Yay!
I never answered you about getting together for a run. Always looking for a buddy but I can't really schedule them too far in advance so it's hard to finds a buddy

Nola Mom,

Glad you liked it and it gave you inspiration. I am pretty good about being able to make on the fly arrangements so just let me know if you want to run, I'm in. Also, we could just meet for coffee. I know of a great spot :)
