Well, Big Monkey is in full hurricane mode over here (even though our friend Fay looks to be a Tropical Depression). He's filled the gas containers and has the generator ready. We plan to buy water and ice tomorrow because most likely our electricity will go out for a while at least. Our electricity goes off even in a mild drizzle so I'm sure we can look forward to that. Hopefully Fay will be friendly to the Big Easy. We certainly don't need any more destruction.

Great blog. Landed here from another and love reading about southern Louisiana, as I'm an LSU girl from long ago.
Will hope for kindness from Fay.
Hopefully y'all will get just a bit of rain, and that will be it... I know my mom has been on High Alert for a week.
I lived in a place in N. FL where the electric surged off and on several times a day even in good weather.
Fay's been dumping a lot of rain on a lot of folks, leaving massive flooding in her wake. I hope you're not on too low of land (and hopefully she's wearing down.)
Best of luck to you.
Hopefuly Fay will not be the real bitch she was to Florida, and will be kind to you in The Big Easy.
Hugs and God's Blessings and Love to you and your family.Mike G. said That!( It's an A.A.thing of mine)
I was beginning to get a little uneasy as well. It looks like we're going to have another active hurricane season. Jeez. You are right though, NOLA has been battered enough.
